The printing pad

The printing pad

The pad used in pad printing may seem like a simple component, but it plays a vital role in transferring the inked image from the printing plate to the desired surface. These flexible pads are made of silicone and come in different shapes, sizes and hardnesses, each carefully designed to meet specific printing requirements for an accurate and legible print.

The manufacture of effective pads begins with the creation of a positive model, which then is used as the basis for creating a negative mould. A liquid silicone mixture is poured into this mould and cured to form a flexible pad.

To ensure high-quality printing results, we pay close attention to details during the production process, such as curing time, temperature and the precise composition of the silicone mixture. The choice of hardness is carefully matched to the ink type, surface materials and complexity of the print image to achieve optimal results. The hardness is precisely controlled using a shore-meter.

With an extensive database of more than 2,000 pad models, we have the expertise to produce high-quality pads that meet various requirements. Moreover, we offer pads with certifications for food safety and FDA approval, of particular interest to sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and the food industry. These certifications guarantee safety and suitability for use in specific application areas.
